Key fob batteries

Open the fob and read the code on the cell that comes out. That code is the specification. Lists that assign a cell to a car brand go stale every model year, and this index does not reprint them. No manufacturer key-fob manual was used to pair brands with cells, so none are named here.

Energizer's replacement guide is the source for the "key fobs" line in the table. It names the cell size, not the car. The common lithium coins in that column are CR2032, CR2025, CR2016, CR1632, CR1620 and a few thinner cousins. A23 is the 12 V alkaline stack used in some older remotes. It is not a substitute for any of the coins.

Match voltage and thickness. A CR2025 in a CR2032 fob is the same 3 V and the same 20 mm diameter, and it is 0.7 mm too thin for the spring. A CR2032 will not enter a CR2025 hatch. Do not bridge the gap with foil.
